What impressed me most is how compact this unit is. It takes up very little space, but it’s heavier than I expected for its size. That extra weight could have made moving it inconvenient, so I really appreciate the wheels. They make repositioning the unit much easier and are an important part of the experience for me.
Setup was especially easy. There are excellent instructions posted around the unit, and having that guidance right there made the process clear instead of leaving me to figure things out on my own. I liked not having to guess what to do next. The unit is very quiet, and removes a good amount of humidity, so I'm very happy.
The compact footprint is a big plus when space matters, while the wheels help offset the fact that this smaller unit has more heft than expected. Those two points work together well: it doesn’t take up much room, yet it remains manageable to move when necessary. Add the clear setup instructions and quiet use, and this has been a very straightforward experience from the start.
So far the dehumidifier is great. We just got it hooked up this morning so it’s just now starting to work. I can post something after a couple weeks of using it but I think it’s going to be perfect for the size of my house.
Our basement, like so many others, tends to get pretty damp, especially in the summertime. We store our winter clothes, Christmas decorations, and all kinds of other stuff down there, so the last thing I want is for the dampness to settle in and make those items moldy and musty!
The large dehumidifier that we've had down there for about 10 years worked great in the beginning, but in the last year or two, we barely see any drops in the hose that drains into the sump pit, the humidity has been creeping up past the set point, and most recently, it has started a sound like an airplane taking off, so loud we can sometimes hear it in the family room upstairs!
So when I saw this AEOCKY dehumidifier, described as quiet, with a smart compressor, I could not wait to try it as a replacement for the current humidifier that is clearly not doing its job anymore.
Let me tell you, this awesome dehumidifier does not disappoint!
- The unit is small - about 25% smaller than our previous unit that was knee height and about a foot wide. It is also set on caster wheels, so it's super easy to move and relocate as needed.
- It is whisper quiet when it runs (see video). While that is a great feature in general, if you need this in a more lived-in space than your basement (ie, bedroom or living room), I'm confident that you will be delighted by the fact that, even at high fan speed, you can barely hear it at all!
- It has many great features and functions, including a "child lock" setting & a "sleep mode" function that dims the lights and reduces the fan speed to low automatically, to prevent sleep disruption. It comes with both a single page, quick start menu and a detailed instruction manual to help you make the most of its many settings.
- It has a washable, reusable prefilter that keeps it running smoothly, & does not require expensive, throw-away filter replacements
- It comes with everything you need to set it up and get it running immediately, including an in-unit drainage tank for areas where there is no constant drain available, a long length PVC tube attachment that we used to drain the water directly into our sump pit, and it even includes a garden hose attachment that would allow you to drain it easily outdoors
- Honestly, it works great - it got the humidity under control within 2 hours, and now that it's been running for about a week, I can tell you that it maintains the humidity perfectly within the set range (35 - 40% humidity).
- In my humble opinion, this is a great value. For all the great features and its amazing efficiency, it is reasonably priced - most dehumidifiers we have had in the past, cost about twice as much
The only downside to this dehumidifier is that the drainage tank is fairly small (I wasn't able to find specifics on the volume it holds, but I would guess it's about 2 quarts of water), so if you don't have a continuous drain option available, you will be emptying this fairly frequently.
Overall, this is a great humidifier that is well made, thoughtfully designed with many helpful features, runs whisper quiet, and does its job perfectly at a very affordable price point. Highly recommend!
Small ,light weight ,quiet and well made
Works very well and is relatively quiet.
The first one I received was damaged but I contacted customer service and they replaced the damaged unit very quickly and easily. They stand behind their product. The new unit is working well and has already cut the humidity in half! It is relatively quiet. Great purchase and excellent customer service!
Works great
This is so quiet without being in sleep mode. It’s removing more water from the air than I thought was there. I am so pleased with this dehumidifier.
This dehumidifier works very well and is currently removing 15 pints of water daily. I would definitely recommend this product to others needing a small dehumidifier. It's easy to use in auto and also has auto shutoff on timer and tank full if used continuously.
The first one I received didn’t work and I went through the diagnostics with the manufacturer which is done on line and takes some time to complete. Once they determined it was faulty the asked me to hold it and shipped me a second unit. That unit worked fine and I am happy with the results.
Very happy with it. Quiet and lighter weight than older models. Does a great job of reducing the high humidity from living on the beach. I keep humidity level between 50&60. It shuts off when level is reached and starts up when levels rise.
This is my second AEOCKY dehumidifier purchase. The other is in our rental house basement.
Works well in my 1100 square ft apartment. I manually empty it 3-4 times a day. Curious if I will need to empty less in cooler months (it's been a very hot and humid summer). When on trips, I put on counter and hook tubing to it to drip into sink. Very quiet and takes up minimal space. Definitely easy to use. Buttons on top are sensitive, barely takes a touch to respond.
Small unit but seems to do the job
This thing is WAY quieter and puts out much less heat that my older dehumidifier. It's also about half of the size. I just use the bucket on the unit and pour it out when it fills up. It fills up at least 4 times a day at my house. Ideally if you have a drain or something near where you are going to place the unit you would use the hose that comes with it so you never have to empty the tank. The unit is easy to use. I just leave it on continuous and set the fan to high. Even on high this is so much quieter than my old unit. The led lettering is clear and bright and you can easily see what modes you are on. I did have trouble with the first unit I got not working at all. The seller responded quickly to my email, had me do some testing and quickly sent out another unit to replace it. The replacement unit took longer to get than straight through Amazon, but the seller did get it shipped quickly at least. I only wish the tank was larger, like maybe 1 gallon instead of .5 gallon. But, you can get different models with bigger tanks if you want. Overall I would recommend this if you are looking for a compact unit that doesn't put off much heat or noise
Small Dehumidifier
This tank is only half a gallon, so you will need to empty it fairly often, if you don't put a hose on it. Depending on placement, you can hook up a drain hose for continuous operation with no emptying.
It is made to fit into smaller areas, and isn't as bulky as one with a higher capacity. It does work well.
It has a brushless motor. It has all the features, like smart defrost sensor, humidity control, and multiple modes. It is decently quiet for what it is - of course there is going to be some noise.
This looks nice, and since it doesn't take up a lot of room, that makes it even nice in my opinion. It isn't bulky at all.
It is easy to use. Just set your humidity level with the buttons, and walk away. It is designed for a room that isn't huge. It is possible to use an adapter to hook it up to a garden hose for longer drainage needs.
Love this- works great. Only thing I would change is make the container that collects the water larger. That said it is small and it's quiet and it works well.
It removes humidity very fast. However, because it does a great job at it the small bucket fills up fast. You'll have to use the drain hose if you want run it continuously.
It’s small, quiet and does a great job controlling the humidity. I actually could use a larger one, but I have this one in my kitchen which is also next to my bathroom (most humid rooms upstairs). I empty it twice a day right now. The water receptacle is light and it’s very easy to dump the water. My bed/sheets/pillow no longer feel damp. Very happy with this dehumidifier!
Best small dehumidifier.
Dead on arrival after giving the upright time. I think Amazon's shipping on side is killing them.
Replaced came USPS and works, see how it holds up.
It did pull down humidity quickly.
Been using it for several days in living room removed over 20 gallons of water but humidity is still around 70%
This is much smaller than my old dehumidifier that I needed to replace, but seems to be just as effective, and is much quieter. I leave it running in the basement during the summer months. The hose they supply to connect to a drainage point is rather short, but it includes a connector so that you can attach an additional length of hose. Overall very pleased with this product.
Very quite and works great
After my GE quit after two years, I didn’t want to spend a lot on a dehumidifier. This unit is a workhorse and absolutely no issues.
It is quiet & has been very efficient.
the aeocky work wonderfully just turn it on and it will program itself. I like the basement freshness
Capacity of water container was smaller than i expected. Should have bought one with a larger capacity. I need to empty it more often.
It does run very quiet. Which my other one was noisy.
The collection reservoir is fairly small and needs to be emptied often.
